Application Form Review

Give your form the professional treatment

The road towards subspecialty training (Or ST3/4 Entry) is long and has its challenges. CV development is essential in getting shortlisted and securing the opportunity to be interviewed. There is a lot to do. You have to perform audits, develop QI projects and show you are a leader and an educator. This is all whilst being a good doctor, parent, partner and having a healthy work life balance. However, if you are reading this then you’ve managed and well done because I know it isn’t easy. My journey towards paediatric cardiology training wasn’t straight forward. So, now is the time to put pen to paper and to illustrate your hard work in words. That isn’t always as easy as it sounds. Where do you start? What do you include? How do you articulate your thoughts in a way to score maximum points? Don’t let your hard work be spoiled by poor writing. You’ve done the hard work so be sure to get the recognition you deserve. This is why I started this service. I take the time to review and provide constructive feedback on how to improve your form and have helped many trainees secure interviews in sub speciality and general paediatric training.

Writing

'Dr Mahmood helped me with my application for entering paediatric training. I was lucky enough to have met him while working in the same trust. He was  very approachable and played a big part in editing my application (which was successful). He was thorough, and gave honest productive feedback. He has excellent knowledge of the system and he helped me through the whole process, not just the application writing. He basically restructured the entire thing and helped maximize scoring potential. All of this while working full time, and being always available for any queries or revision. Definitely the go-to person for any application/interview concerns'

Fast, Efficient and Extremely helpful:
I used the application support service from MRCPCHSpecialty for my Grid application. I can say that Umar turned my application into a piece of art. Before I know that service, my application wasn't shortlisted last year. However, I scored higher this year and got to the interview. Dr Mahmood helped me to recognise all my strengths, polish them and present them in the right way to the marking team. I definitely recommend this service to anyone applying for a competitive job.

Umar was fantastic help with my application. He took the time, care and consideration to understand my personal background, attributes and goals, and tailored his advice to help me communicate my achievements and skillset as effectively as possible. Through a motivating chat followed by reading various drafts of my form, it improved significantly, 'ticking the boxes' whilst being true to me as an individual. I scored really well on my form and can attribute a lot of this to the help I received from Umar. I found there were few resources available to help with Grid training applications, and that they were very generic; therefore I highly recommend seeking Umar's support!

Thank you very much for your very valuable advice and guidance. I feel better equipped to compete in shortlisting.
I was truly impressed with how you have gone through each sentence, giving attention to all details within the application.
Good tips. Enough time. Supportive. Content, structure, and grammar.
I would recommend this support to everyone who wants his application to be outstanding.
